Pool Table Racks - Residential And Commercial Options

Every pool game starts with the pool table balls being placed in pool table racks that are triangular in shape. The racks are placed on the table in such a way that the short end of the pool table is positioned parallel to the base of the rack while the apex ball of the rack is placed on the foot spot of the table.  

A pool table rack (a wooden frame or it may be made from plastic or a metal frame) is used in gathering the billiard balls at the start of every game. There are also aluminum racks that are set for the eight ball pool game. The pool table racks are usually shaped as triangles or diamonds. The pool balls are arranged and then broken up by the first pool player that will signal the start of the game wherein the balls are being shot to the pockets. Pool racks are used in positioning the balls to have a tight position of the pool balls. In cases when the balls are not too tight, the break will not be distributed evenly on the table.

The pool balls are placed in the table racks in such a way that they are in contact with each other. This is done by pressing the pool balls together starting at the back of the rack to the apex ball. The pool balls can be placed randomly but the number 8 ball must always be at the center of the pool table racks and the stripe and solid pool balls are positioned in the two back corners of the table rack.

The player will decide where he will place the cue ball in his desired breaker. The first player will then decide to shoot by breaking the object ball that is prearranged in the pool table racks. If the first player failed to break the first break, the opponent can ask for another arrangement of the balls in the pool table racks and then he is elected the next breaker.

The triangular shape of the pool table racks is the most common physical shape whose ball pattern is 5-4-3-2-1. Most players specially the beginners called this simply the “triangles”. The pool racks that are shaped triangles are normally used in the eight ball, one pocket, snooker, straight pool, bank pool and many more. The diamond shaped pool table racks have a pattern 1-2-3-2-1 which is usually used in the nine-ball game though the triangle rack is also often used.

The arrangement of the pool balls in the pool table racks on the nine-ball pool game - the nine-ball is placed in the middle and one ball is placed at the top. For a straight pool game, the balls are placed randomly in the pool racks but the one ball is placed in the right corner of the rack while the five balls go to the left corner of the rack. Different players have their own way of arranging the pool balls on the pool racks but you have to follow the correct way of placing the balls in the racks.
